Disability Insurance

Disability Insurance allows continuation of a covered member's base salary when an eligible employee is unable to perform their work duties due to a continuous, incapacitating health condition, caused by an illness, or injury involving appropriate and continuing treatment by a physician.  In order for an employee to be considered to have a disability, the employee’s disabling health condition must be certified by a physician and approved by the insurance carrier as an insurable condition. There are two types of disability coverage available.

• Short Term Disability insurance is a type of insurance that pays a portion of your salary if you become temporarily disabled, meaning you are unable to work for a short period due to sickness, injury, or pregnancy. 
   

• Long Term Disability insurance aims to help individuals maintain their financial stability during periods of prolonged disability, providing income when they are unable to work.
